Family Matters

Late on a Tuesday night in February the Headley Family increased by fifty percent, as Abigail Sage and Matthew Soren made their debut into the world. As expected, Soren & Sage have thoroughly shaken-up our lives in the best way. Heather and I are so grateful that God has allowed us to be the parents of four amazing children.

A friend of mine who is also a parent once remarked, “My family is my first mission field.” This motto has stuck with me as I learn that loving those closest to me is the best way to be an effective pastor and disciple of Jesus. In that spirit, I am grateful for our church’s support as I take extra time away from work over the next few weeks to be with my family. We have a lot of adjusting to do, as the twins have dramatically affected our daily household routines–eating, working, sleeping, praying and playing together.

Heather and I express our heartfelt thanks to all of you who have given so generously of yourselves–be it baby-shower gifts, meals, or time watching Hannah and Noah over the past several weeks. We simply can’t do life without our church family. "We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers!” (1 Thessalonians 1:2)
