The miniature food pantry on the corner of our property is a resource to help those who are experiencing food insecurity, as well as a means to help our community feed the hungry. It provides a way for people to receive and provide anonymous help as an act of love for one's neighbor.
When our community garden is yielding a harvest, items such as tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, melons, and beans are placed in the pantry.
Since its' installation on December 23, 2016, it has become a true community effort. Church members check and refill it multiple times each week, but many members of our community who are not members of the church fill the pantry as well. The local Cub Scout Pack 11 likes to fill this pantry on a regular basis, as well as children who attend our Wednesday night Kids for Christ and youth outreach ministries.
Donations can be brought to the church at any time, or placed directly in the pantry.
